Mark Evants, along with Josiah, in 2016 decided to become owners of Midtown, now known as Natural State Coffee Roasters. As a former pastor turned entrepreneur, Mark brings passion and purpose to everything he does. With a sharp business mind and a deep care for people, he handles all the behind-the-scenes operations that keep the shops running smoothly. A true jack-of-all-trades, Mark wears many hats and never shies away from doing whatever needs to be done. His dedication, integrity, and servant-leadership shape the spirit of our shops every day.

Tina, wife of co-owner Mark Evants, brings a genuine care for people that sets the tone for how we treat each other and our customers. Her calm, thoughtful presence is felt throughout the team, and we’re better for it.

Josiah has been part of the company since day one and is the heart behind Natural State Coffee Roasters. He handles the roasting side of the business by sourcing, tasting, and fine-tuning every batch of coffee. He’s always looking for ways to grow and improve what we do, without losing sight of what matters most: serving great coffee and taking care of people.

Kertsyn brings a mix of creativity and practicality to Natural State. With experience in the arts, administration, and baking, she naturally fits into whatever part of the shop needs her most. In 2023, her experience led us to open a bakery within our Atkins location, adding a crucial missing piece to our ever-expanding menu. Her continued influence can be seen in the small, thoughtful details throughout every part of the business.
